New Orleans wedding photography at Christ Church Cathedral 2919 Saint Charles Ave

The Christ Church Cathedral is a gem for wedding photography. This New Orleans wedding started at the perfect time. The bride was dressed and ready for bridal portraits at 3 p.m. The church has an inside patio with a washed stone facade that makes a perfect background. And the walls reflect and refract sunlight that is filtered through 200 year old oak trees. The Christ Church of Cathedral has the best lighting for day time wedding photography.

Jessica was truly the nicest and kindest person I have every worked with. We allowed two hours for  bridal portraits and all the family portraits in the court yard before the wedding.

On occasion, it is possible to schedule weddings for Episcopalians outside of the diocese of Louisiana who are active in their home parishes. To request that this take place, the potential candidates should ask their Rector, Vicar, or Priest-in-Charge write a letter to the Dean requesting that the Cathedral celebrate the marriage.

Once this letter has been received a Cathedral staff person will contact the potential bride or groom to schedule an initial appointment in order to discuss the a Cathedral Wedding.

We cannot schedule a wedding at the Cathedral until this initial meeting has taken place. You may address inquiries or questions to
Canon Steven Roberts.

Ryan&Christen – New Orleans wedding photography

We walked around the French Quarter for an hour capturing candid shots of the couple enjoying themselves. Lafette’s Blacksmith Shop Bar was one of the places the couple frequented when they lived in New Orleans. The timing, weather, light and couple were perfect. I had a great time. Thank you

Wedding at St. Louis Cathedral

Wedding guidelines for St. Louis Cathedral.

As one of the seven Sacraments of the Catholic Church, the Rite of Marriage is a sacred ceremony, expressing and celebrating the faith not only of the couple being married, but of our entire community of faith. The priests, deacons and staff of the Cathedral parish will assist you in every way possible in planning your liturgy for this special day, and guide you in making certain that your wedding is a proper and worthy celebration of our Church.

Preliminary information

1. Couples need to begin preparing for their marriage not less than six months in advance of the anticipated date of the wedding. This is a New Orleans Archdiocesan policy. It is preferred that the Priest or Deacon who prepares you will also preside at the Wedding.

2. The couple must make arrangements with their parish priest or deacon to preside at the wedding liturgy. This priest or deacon must be in good standing in his diocese and have proper ecclesiastical faculties from that diocese. He must also be registered in the State of Louisiana as an authorized minister of marriages.

The parish priest or deacon who will preside at the wedding liturgy must be willing to complete the Pre-Nuptial inquiry, obtaining all dispensations and documents needed. This priest or deacon must also agree to complete all marriage preparations with the couple required by the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

3. A confirmation is needed (fax, phone, letter) from the priest or deacon that he is assuming responsibility for your marriage preparation before a wedding date can be scheduled tentatively. Weddings are never scheduled tentatively until this confirmation is received. A follow up call by the couple is highly recommended to make sure your tentative date is being held.

4. For couples living outside of the Archdiocese of New Orleans – Your marriage preparation is done by your parish priest or deacon. The procedure is the same as #1 and #2 and #3. If an out of town couple is not able to arrange for a member of the clergy to officiate, the Cathedral Wedding Director will assist in procuring the services of a priest or deacon of the Archdiocese. Any honorarium for clergy is your responsibility.
